    Marina Cycling Group

The marina cycling group welcomes new members to join them. We are amateur cyclists who meet by the marina Post Box at 10 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, weather permitting, and cycle somewhere for a coffee or hot chocolate and a chat, before cycling home in time for lunch.

We wear helmets and high-visibility jackets, but we do not wear Lycra!  Some of our group have electric bikes, and others have “traditional” bikes, but we do not race.  Since we are an informal group, each person is responsible for their own safety and insurance, and for the condition of their bicycle.

We communicate using a WhatsApp Group shortly before meeting, so we know how many to expect, and when we meet we decide where to go. Typical rides are to Beaulieu, The New Forest Wildlife Park, Exbury, Lepe and Calshot.

  • Community Spirit Award

    Community Spirit Award

Hythe Marina residents, together with Berth Holders, U3A and Marina Friends were given a Community Spirit Award by Hythe and Dibden Parish Council for the effort that was put in donating to the foodbank and producing thousands of pieces of PPE for the NHS.

    Di Herbet receiving the Award

Sad that they did not mention our magnificent NHS sewing group led by Gerry Fletcher.
