WEDNESDAY CRUISES: We have received a fabulous response to these and will commence end April  / May depending on weather conditions. All of you who have registered interest will receive an email once we are ready to proceed.

CLUB NIGHT: in the Boathouse, 6.30 for an hour, commence March 10th, and the second Friday of each month. Join fellow members for a drink and chat. A Board Member will attend to answer any queries. NB: The May Club Night has been moved to Thursday 18^th as a trial.

CORONATION STREET PARTIES:  May 7^th Organise your courtyards and hold a party to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles.

AGM: May 13^th, 16.00 hours, in the Parish Hall, followed by Quiz and fish and chip supper.

DRAGON BOAT RACING: June 10th

SUMMER SOLSTICE: June 24^th, picnic on the bund, DIY event.

RNLI Raft Race: August 20^th. Plans are in process to build and enter the races again this year.

TREASURE HUNT: September 16^th, on the water and land followed by supper at the Boathouse.

CEILIDH: October 21^st in the Parish Hall.

CHRISTMAS LUNCH: December 8^th.

CAROLS ON THE MARINA: December 15^th.

Full details will follow closer to the dates advertised. Amendments and additions to this calendar may be advised during the year. MDL will be hosting a number of events during the year including Dragon Boat Racing, BBQ for berth holders and residents and the ‘Trolley of Treats’. There will be a Social Survey Questionnaire issued at the AGM for completion and return on the day or to the post box in the Hub.

Notice of the AGM to be held on Saturday 13th May 2023 in the Parish Hall, West Street, Hythe, SO45 6AA at 1600hrs.  It is planned that Tea / coffee will be available from 1530 hrs prior to the AGM. 

I encourage you to register your interest on the Giganet site so that we can get Fibre around the Marina.

Enter post code as shown above (use your actual postcode and make sure that “I am a home user” is showing or you will get the wrong costs of the packages).

You will be redirected to the following page – select your address from the drop down list as shown below.

Click on “Scan Packages”.

You will be redirected to the screen below –

Decide what package you are interested in (Don’t forget this commits you to nothing). Then click on “Register Interest” button below the package you are interested in (Again this does not commit you to anything, you are just registering your interest). The following screen appears – fill in your first name, last name, email address, phone number and contract end date.  Then click on the check box “I agree to Giganet’s privacy policy”.

Then click on the “Register Interest” button and you are done !

Its that easy!

Invitation to join in organised Sailing Events

Southampton Water Sailing Association run a number of sailing events, which take place on Southampton Water, just outside Hythe Marina. These begin in April and run until September.

There are 10 evening races, which use the area just in front of Netley Dome. The races last an hour and a half. The weekend series is hosted off the shore of Hythe Sailing Club and consists of 8 races. There are passage races and a single handed race, which is always a popular event. And also social occasions are organised throughout the season,

These races are suitable for any ability: from the sailor who has never raced before; to the more experienced. There is a lot of fun to be had sailing in company.

A number of boats from the marina enjoy taking part and we would love to see some more.
