Last Night of the Proms
The weather could not have been kinder, the social team set up the mechanics for the simultaneous screening of the Proms, flags and banners. The grass was cut and MDL kindly organised battery lights and traffic cones, additional security and funded the licence for the night.
Picnics were enjoyed and the event began. The second part of the performance is possibly why we were all there, Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem and of course the final God Save the Queen. We sang, shouted and screeched our way through as the cool night air rolled across the bund.
Fabulous evening with great support from our local community and my Swift Trawler Group, raising £870 for the Hythe and Calshot RNLI.
Our thanks to our marina manager Dave Lewis and his team, John and Sally McGinn, Phil Bridges, Nigel Price and all that made this event possible, well done!
